Maison Francis Kurkdjian was founded in Paris in 2009 by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, best known for creating Jean Paul Gaultier's iconic Le Male at just 24, and business partner Marc Chaya. The house built a "perfume wardrobe" philosophy of purity and reinvented classicism, and its 2015 release Baccarat Rouge 540 became one of the most influential niche fragrances of the modern era, reaching cult status. LVMH acquired a majority stake in 2017.
