About Guy Laroche

Guy Laroche founded his fashion house in Paris in 1957, known for elegant, comfortable ready-to-wear that simplified women's fashion. The brand launched its first fragrance, Fidji, in 1966, followed by the men's citrus-aromatic Drakkar in 1972. Its 1982 successor, Drakkar Noir, created by perfumer Pierre Wargnye, became one of the defining men's fragrances of the decade — the world's best-selling prestige men's scent by 1991 — and remains a cult classic today under L'Oréal.
