Donna Karan founded her fashion house in New York in 1984 and expanded it with the younger, city-inspired DKNY label in 1989. In fragrance, the house's signature is Cashmere Mist — introduced in 1994, it began as a body cream and bath collection before becoming a full perfume in its own right. Its sculptural bottle, designed by Karan's husband, artist Stephen Weiss, is meant to echo the female form, and the warm jasmine-sandalwood-musk scent remains the brand's best-known fragrance.
