About Atkinsons

Atkinsons was founded in London in 1799 by James Atkinson, a young perfumer who famously arrived in the city with a live bear alongside his fragrance recipes. Atkinson's English Eau de Cologne made him a favorite of royalty, and in 1826 he was named Perfumer to the Royal Court — the brand's chained-bear emblem still nods to that origin story. After a dormant period, Atkinsons relaunched in 2013 under the ownership of Italy's Perfume Holding (now part of Euroitalia), continuing its tradition of bold, gender-free luxury scents.
